This is a serious issue for all Albert Eden voters. City Vision candidate, Peter Haynes, is seen to be unethically leaning on a café owner to remove information he doesn’t like from a public place. This is a Stanley Palmer poster that the café owner willingly, after full explanation, placed in their window for the public to see.
Peter Haynes has clearly tried to pressure the café owner by implying that they were breaking the electoral rules. Despite his disingenuous comment to the Herald, as an experienced politician he would certainly have understood the impression he was creating on people who he described as “new migrants”.
Stanley Palmer is an 83 year old artist who is genuine in his concern for Chamberlain Park’s future. He has an opinion to which he is entitled, and his right to that opinion underlines our democracy. He has painted the trees of Chamberlain Park, 60 year old trees that will be destroyed in the City Vision Master Plan. He decided to print these watercolours as posters with his own wording and initially at his own cost. He is independent of Save Chamberlain Park Inc, is not a golfer and has not been directed by anyone.
Please share this with anyone who values the right to have their own opinion and a right to freely express their opinion without being overtly pressured by a person in a position of power.
Do not vote for City Vision Candidates in the October election if you agree that your opinion matters.
Do not vote for City Vision Candidates if you want to protect the hundreds of mature trees of Chamberlain Park and the vulnerable ecosystems associated with them.
