This petition is not a demand for ownership transfer or for the selection of any specific organization to control Camp Lockett. It is a request for lawful review and enforcement of the deed restrictions and stewardship obligations governing this historic public site. Our sole purpose is to ask San Diego County to formally determine whether current ownership and use of Camp Lockett complies with the original conditions under which the land was conveyed, and to take appropriate corrective action if those conditions are not being met. This petition is about accountability, historic preservation, and ensuring that Camp Lockett is protected and used in a manner consistent with its legal purpose and public interest. We respectfully call on the County of San Diego and County Counsel to conduct a transparent review of deed compliance and stewardship of Camp Lockett and to report their findings publicly.
