Save Bus'Y' Bite Cafe – Keep a Local Family Business in Perth Bus Station
The Issue
Bus'Y'Bite Cafe has been part of Perth Bus Station for the last 26 years. We've been lucky enough to serve generations of customers, from commuters and bus drivers to school pupils, visitors and local families.
We've now been told by Perth & Kinross Council that our lease won't be renewed after 2028 because of plans to redevelop the bus station.
We understand that the bus station may change in the future, and we're not against redevelopment. All we're asking is to be part of those plans so we can continue serving the community we've been part of for over two decades.
We've seen comments saying the Council would help us find another premises. That was never discussed with us, and the reality is that starting all over again just isn't something we can afford. Like many small family businesses, we've spent the last few years getting back on our feet after COVID. Starting from scratch somewhere else would mean huge costs that simply aren't realistic for us.
This cafe isn't just our livelihood – it's been part of the bus station and the local community for 26 years.
We're not asking to stop redevelopment.
We're simply asking Perth & Kinross Council to work with us and give Bus'Y' Bite Cafe the opportunity to stay as part of any new development.
If you believe long-standing local businesses should be given the chance to continue, please sign our petition.
We ask Perth & Kinross Council to:
- Work with us throughout the redevelopment process.
- Find a way for Bus'Y' Bite Cafe to stay as part of any future bus station development.
- Help protect a local family business that has served Perth for the last 26 years.
Thank you for your support. Every signature really does make a difference.
