I was devastated to read that The Beck Theatre may close because terms could not be agreed between Hillingdon Council who own the building and Trafalgar Theatres' who have been managing the theatre since 2007. 

For 20 years, I have booked show after show, gifted theatre tickets and spent quality family time at this Theatre, not to mention my daughter's first ever ballet performance as the local ballet school in Ickenham used it for their performances. 

It is full of memories for so many residents in our borough and year after year, puts on quality show after quality show.

"For 50 years The Beck Theatre has been the cornerstone of Arts and Culture for Hillingdon, West London and beyond. Not just a professional theatre with a world-class programme, but also a hub of creativity, creative learning and communiyt outreach. There is no other theatre like The Beck in the UK and no other venue of a similar scale within a 10 mile radius. The closure of The Beck would therefore be a devastating blow not just to audiences, but also to the myriad of local organisations, charities and communities that we support." The above is an excerpt from a letter sent by Steve Sargeant, Theatre Director. I can't imagine how tragic it must have been for him to write this but highlights what The Beck theatre brings to Hillingdon.

We need everyone in Hillingdon to sign this petition, to demonstrate to Hillingdon Council that we will not let this local treasure be closed and that the Arts is worth investing into.
