Our student section deserves the opportunity to create a loud, energetic, and positive high school atmosphere.

This year, students have felt overly restricted and monitored by administrators in the student section. Sections have been blocked off, students are not allowed to stand near the fence, and we have been treated as if we are much younger students rather than responsible high schoolers.

We have tried to work with administration and even proposed moving the student section to the band area. This would allow more students to participate safely while giving us the space to be energetic and support our school. However, our suggestions have not been taken seriously.

We have also been told that megaphones and flags are not allowed, even though these traditions were permitted last year and are common at other high school student sections. We are asking administration to work with us on reasonable safety guidelines instead of removing the traditions and energy that make the student section meaningful.

We want a safe environment, but we also want to be heard, respected, and allowed to enjoy high school like students at other schools. Please support giving our student section a fair opportunity to bring back its energy and school spirit.
