Three courses are planned to be cancelled next semester. The courses are ASL4003 Practicum 1, ASL4723 Simultaneous Interpreting, and ASL4833 Interactive Interpreting. All three of these courses are absolutely essential to not only the ASL studies and interpreting major requirements, but also to the development of the interpreting career and Deaf community as a whole.
If you are an ASL studies major or ASL interpreting major, THESE CANCELLATIONS IMPACT YOU AS WELL. Even if none of your classes were cancelled this semester, they will be in the future if we allow these cancellations to happen. Allowing these cancellations to happen sets a precedent which will eventually lead to the end of our major as a whole. 
We are the only university in Oklahoma that offer this major, it makes OSU so special and we just need more time to develop it. The major is not even 2 years old yet and if they stop there classes now, the impacts could be detrimental. The university has made it clear that it is up to us as students to advocate for our major and education. Our major is just beginning, please join us to save it.
