Aradale Asylum is far more than an old building. It is a remarkable piece of Victoria’s history — a place that tells stories of our past and draws visitors from across Australia and beyond to Ararat.

For years, Aradale has brought people into the region through day tours, night tours, photography and heritage tourism, supporting local jobs, accommodation, cafés, shops and countless small businesses.

But the future of this incredible site is at risk.

We don’t want to see Aradale receive a temporary band-aid fix, only for the same problems to return. We want the buildings properly repaired, protected and maintained, with a long-term maintenance plan in place so Aradale can remain standing and safe for generations to come.

Once this history is lost, we can’t get it back.

We’re asking the government to step up and provide the funding needed to properly preserve Aradale — not just for today, but for the future.
