The Issue

Anil's store (Londis and the post office) on Crown Lane in Morden has been a cornerstone of our community for over 20 years. Managed with care and dedication, Anil has built more than just a business , he’s become a vital part of our everyday lives.

Unfortunately, the landlord has submitted an application(25/p1240 is the reference) to convert this essential shop into residential housing. This change would not only uproot the business that many of us rely on daily, but it would also close the post office – a crucial service that supports residents with mailing needs and financial services.

The loss of Anil’s shop would be a blow to our community. Especially for our elderly neighbors who rely on its proximity for daily essentials, families who stop by for last-minute necessities, and individuals who depend on the post office for important communications.

While housing development is important, it should not come at the expense of essential local services. We urge the council to reconsider the proposal and recognise the invaluable role that Anil and his shop play in Morden.

Please help. Your support can make a difference. Please sign this petition to help us keep Anil's Londis Shop and Post Office operating on.
