Petition to Preserve AmeriCorps NCCC Operations

To: Members of Congress, AmeriCorps Leadership, and Federal Budgeting Authorities

We, the undersigned, urge you to support the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) program. As a vital national service initiative, NCCC plays a critical role in strengthening communities, building civic engagement among young adults, and addressing urgent local and national needs through hands-on service.

Since its inception in 1993, AmeriCorps NCCC has:

- Responded to natural disasters, helping communities recover from hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and more.
- Improved infrastructure, including renovating schools, parks, and community centers.
- Supported underserved populations through food banks, housing projects, and education programs.
- Developed future leaders, providing life-changing opportunities and skills for young adults aged 18–26.
- The program not only serves as a powerful force for good but also offers current members and alumni a pathway to career development, education benefits, and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Eliminating NCCC would be a major step backward in our commitment to national service. The loss of Americorps NCCC would leave critical gaps across the country and reduce opportunities for youth looking to make a positive difference.

We call on you to ensure AmeriCorps NCCC continues to be funded and supported at the federal level. Invest in service. Invest in our youth. Invest in the future of our communities.
