Save Alphas Canine Care Daycare

The Issue

Alphas Canine Care has been a local business in Ealing for the past ten years, providing daycare, doggie boarding and dog walking services. It started out small and has grown quickly, a testament to the efficient, caring service provided by ACC. Now, Ealing Council is blocking ACC from having a doggie daycare licence, which could ultimately render their service no longer financially viable, and leave those who use, work, and volunteer for the service in a difficult position.

Not only does ACC provide a valuable service to its client base, it also gives back to the Ealing community. It provides jobs advertised through the local job centre and gives those individuals who work with them an opportunity to take on new training and new experiences, in a friendly and therapeutic environment.

Many people who use the ACC services do so to be able to continue working, go on holiday, and it is an essential service for those who are unable to walk their dog due to time constraints, or indeed ill health. As well as this, ACC works hard to provide dogs who have had a difficult start in life with extra care, training, and socialisation, turning their lives around. Below is a testimony from an ACC client:

"Back in January 2023, I decided to rescue a dog in need from a shelter. I was keen on adopting a senior dog who had been overlooked by other potential adopters. I was matched with a 6-year-old American Akita named Luna, who had been abandoned by her previous family. This dog ended up ruining my life. Luna severely lacked any people or dog skills and I was forced to always keep her on a lead and securely muzzled. My life revolved around caring for her. Returning her to the shelter was not an option because she simply would not survive. We went through several trainers and sitters, who all left in tears, and every time we were back to square one, and I would see my hopes at living a somewhat normal life crushed.

In October 2023, I stumbled upon Alpha Canine Care's Instagram page and got in touch straightaway. We started going on training session with the founder and head trainer Ben Naidoo who immediately managed to see right through Luna and identify her strengths and weaknesses. As a result, she has been able to attend regular daycare and walking sessions with Ben and his staff. She has come out of her shell so much and it is so heartwarming to see how lovely her interactions with the staff are. I can now rely on Ben and his staff to help me care for my dog when I am ill and I am safe in the knowledge that were I to have a family emergency back at home in Italy, I could count on ACC.

I simply do not know what I would do without ACC, they are a lifeline for me. They helped me get some of my life back, and more importantly, improved my mental health. One does not have to be a dog owner to understand the importance of the deep bond that ACC's team has managed to establish with my dog.

I am begging Ealing Council to review their decision regarding the future of ACC. It would have devastating effects on both my personal and my professional life. Please do not bring this horrendous and extremely bleak scenario upon myself and my loved ones.”

Please help us support Alphas Canine Care (ACC) so that the people of Ealing can continue to access invaluable care and support for their dogs. Sign this petition to highlight how many people need this service, and the disastrous impact that Ealing Council could have on the community if they do not repeal their decision.
