SAVE A FAMILY HOME!!! SAY NO TO HMO!!!

We live on a quiet road in the heart of the Cuckoo Estate Conservation Area of Hanwell - with schools nearby, where the residents are mostly families and retired persons.
Plans have been submitted to Ealing Planning Department by the owner of 89 Cuckoo Avenue to turn a small terraced 3 bedroom family home into 6 bed-sit style rooms which would mean it would become a HMO (house of multiple occupancy), which could house up to 10 people or more!
It is heartbreaking to see a suitable property that a family could afford to live in destroyed for pure greed, when there is a high number of new flats being built in the local area.
It is heartbreaking to see a suitable property that a family could afford to live in destroyed for pure greed, when there is a high number of new flats being built in the local area.
Reported issues with having HMOs nearby have included (to name a few):
No regard for residents
Anti-social behaviour
Harmful impact on the character of the area
Difficulty with neighbours selling their homes/decreased house prices.
Security risk (burglary, theft)
The owner of the property has no regard for any of the residents as regards to damage to adjoining Council properties beside it and destruction of the attractive hedge fronting the road.
This is happening across the borough and could affect any resident in Ealing, if the Council does not enforce the restrictions to stop the use of properties in this manner.
The restriction imposed by the Council in December 1984 clearly states that the property must be used as a single private dwellinghouse only and that the front hedge should be maintained.
We have created a Petition and need as many supporters against this as possible so that the Council takes notice of its residents.
We cannot do this alone - please help by signing!!
Thank you for your support.
