Save 183 Bus Route

The Issue

First Bus currently for some people see it as a poor service than to the other bus companies who operate in the Colne Valley and now it has decided to 'withdraw', i.e. remove, the 183 bus route [Marsden Hard End to Huddersfield] and merge it with the 184 [Oldham-Huddersfield route].

For people use the 183 see it as important than the current two bus services (185 and 184) and by giving this route completely to the 184 that goes to Oldham, which isn't a reliable decision as the Manchester Road corridor can be busy at peak times, from the school run to home time at 4-5pm for workers, college and university students.

If this change of the bus route and merge it into one allowing the 184 run the route, while waiting times would be greater for people who are vulnerable, elderly, disabled and buggy users also for local people of Marsden who are completely remote from urban areas and those other communities the 183 serves, will see this as a betrayal of First Bus who have somehow think it can still commit to provide efficient services like their counterpart sibling TransPennine Express.

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority must seek to other bus operators to run this route such as Team Pennine, as stated above First Bus has somehow decide not to fulfil its commitments for the Colne Valley.
