Thank you for signing our petition to save the convent Annexe at 12 Dahlia in Dorval. In our petition, we were asking the city to: 1) stop the demolition; 2) undertake a serious study of alternative community uses with their costs; 3) undertake a full community consultation, and 4) get back to us with the results.
Instead, the City has announced that it will be holding an information session on Tuesday November 26, at 7 pm at Centre Communautaire Sarto-Desnoyers, 1335 Chemin Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Dorval, QC H9S 2E5,
The invitation was published on Friday on the City’s Facebook page and reads as follows: The City of Dorval wishes to invite its residents to an information session regarding the future of the building located at 12 Dahlia Avenue. During the evening, five scenarios will be presented to citizens on hand concerning the potential use of the building.
This meeting is NOT a consultation. It is a presentation, to be followed by a Question and Answer period. City Council will be vote for the option that it chooses on December 9, 2025. Please listen to the following exchange on the limitations of this meeting that took place at last month`s city council meeting between the Mayor and retired architect Fernando Pellicer.

The city will not be releasing documentation on its 5 options to allow citizens to study them and prepare their questions ahead of time.
It would be very important that you attend this meeting and make your presence felt. We will be collecting signatures for our petition until December 9th the meeting where Council makes it decision, so please continue to circulate it. We need a lot more signatures if we are to have an impact.

Merci d'avoir signé notre pétition pour sauver l'annexe du couvent au 12 Dahlia à Dorval. Dans notre pétition, nous demandions à la ville de : 1) d'arrêter la démolition ; 2) d'entreprendre une étude sérieuse des utilisations communautaires alternatives avec leurs coûts ; 3) d'entreprendre une consultation communautaire complète, et 4) de nous faire part des résultats.
Au lieu de cela, la Ville a annoncé qu'elle tiendra une séance d'information le mardi 26 novembre à 19 h au Centre Communautaire Sarto-Desnoyers, 1335 Chemin Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Dorval, QC H9S 2E5.
L'invitation a été publiée vendredi sur la page Facebook de la Ville et se lit comme suit : La Ville de Dorval souhaite inviter ses résidents à une séance d'information concernant l'avenir de l'immeuble situé au 12, avenue Dahlia. Au cours de la soirée, cinq scénarios seront présentés aux citoyens présents concernant l'utilisation potentielle de l'immeuble.
Cette réunion n'est PAS une consultation. Il s'agit d'une présentation, suivie d'une période de questions et réponses. Le conseil municipal votera pour l'option qu'il choisira le 9 décembre 2025. Veuillez écouter l'échange suivant sur les limites de cette réunion qui a eu lieu lors de la réunion du conseil municipal du mois dernier entre le maire et l'architecte à la retraite Fernando Pellicer.
