Open Sana'a Airport for Commercial Flights

Open Sana'a Airport for Commercial Flights
Why this petition matters

The Yemeni-American community has faced many challenges and hardships over the past few years due to the war in Yemen. According to the United Nations, Yemen has the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
Prior to the war, Yemeni-Americans often visited their family in Yemen. After Sana'a Airport closed to commercial flights, it has been very difficult to visit family members in Yemen, leaving only Aden and Seiyun airports as options for commercial flights.
Yemeni-Americans visiting their family in many parts of Yemen have to travel between 12-24 hours to arrive at their destination after landing in Aden or Seiyun. Opening Sana'a Airport would cut that travel time more than half. The community understands that there is an active war, but the airport must reopen to commercial flights to ease the burden on the travelers.
In addition, the Yemeni-American community is requesting that other airlines start flying into Yemen to increase the number of flights in and out of the country.
Both sides of the war must make it priority to reopen the airport and guarantee the safety of the travelers.
