THE RTC CONTROLS OUR TRANSPORTATION FUTURE! Thursday morning the RTC Board will vote on the scenarios to be studied in the Unified Corridor Study (UCS) - that will continue through 2018. We need as many people as possible to share oral comments at the start of the meeting. Things like: "STOP spending taxpayer money on rail studies and repairs! We need realistic, affordable, alternatives to gridlock NOW! Build Greenway and a protected bike and pedestrian network, and make METRO work better." If you are able to stay for a while and make a statement when they reach the UCS discussion (Agenda item 24), something to this effect would be helpful: "Trail-Only must be studied independently of Rail-with-Trail in Step 2 of the UCIS so that the public, RTC staff, and commissioners can fully understand the dramatic differences between the two plans in terms of cost, environmental impact, and the likelihood of encouraging a growing population of bicycle and e-bike commuters." Consider bringing a SIGN with a message like: GREENWAY: Less money better trail! GREENWAY: Sustainability at it's best! GREENWAY: & Better Buses GREENWAY: Save Our Trees!
