This is a beautiful redwood tree near Santa Cruz High School that you see in this photo that the Parks and Recreation Department in the City of Santa Cruz will cut down if the City Council does not hear from us. This gorgeous tree represents our town of Santa Cruz!
We have a heritage tree ordinance to protect a tree likee this in Santa Cruz. We can all speak up and write the Santa Cruz City Council by 5 pm Sept 24 to say we agree that Redwood Trees are extremely important to the residents of Santa Cruz and do not cut down this redwood! The students who see that beautiful redwood every school day care about this amazing Redwood. The residents of Santa Cruz care about this redwood. Do not cut down this tree.
We cannot eliminate such an important part of our town. This tree makes our town beautiful. It represents:
A healthy environment.
Redwoods are on the endangered tree list
Redwoods Aid people in their mental health
Redwoods counterbalance climate change:
Redwoods capture the most carbon dioxide than any other tree

Here is the City Council's agenda that states a property management company wants the tree removed and the appeal should be denied. The tree is not causing harm. Our heritage trees need to be protected especially this one. Item eleven:
