of housing in the history of Santa Cruz along with 20 projects which are in some level of process as well as 5 additional hotels. Be aware of what is going on in Santa Cruz. Copy and paste the link or click on it in this post which has two pages to learn of the plans the City of Santa Cruz is working on. The amount of housing accommodates over 2,314 people in just the new groups of housing which some are 6 stories high (one 7 stories high) not including the mechanical equipment on the roof. The other 20 projects are adding approx. 1,100 more depending on how many people occupy a bedroom. The total could be 3,414 more people in the town of Santa Cruz. (Not all units are affordable) Does this help our current need for affordable housing? http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/planning-and-community-development/development-projects

One project has 90 units per acre. Even if not everyone drives a car regularly this change would add a huge amount of traffic, longer lines in the grocery stores, longer wait times to get into doctors appointments, longer waits at restaurants and other services. How many units will be low-income housing? What will be the wage categories for affordable? Will this housing be for our current community? How will this affect tourism which our town needs? Will it be too crowded for tourists and residents to enjoy Santa Cruz? What will future Spring Breaks or summers be like? Can our infrastructure be modified first? Will these types of buildings add to the beauty of Santa Cruz? Is this what you want for Santa Cruz?
Here is the Measure O ordinance stating there needs to be a certain percentage of new developments as affordable http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/economic-development/housing-assistance-information/housing-programs/measure-o-inclusionary-housing

Will Measure O be followed by developers? If not, why not? Is that fair or honoring to what the citizens have voted? Read this information over a few days to take it all in. This is what is being planned for Santa Cruz. These projects are in the works now. Think about if you want this or not. Now is the time to become educated. Santa Cruz City Council needs to hear what you think.  There will be meetings at the city council to voice your views. Important to write the Santa Cruz city council http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-council/councilmembers

Do all you can to represent what you want for Santa Cruz. THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR THE FUTURE OF SANTA CRUZ.
