PETITION Update: Our petition is being presented to the Petitions Committee tomorrow at 4.30pm in Committee Room 2 at the Sandwell Council House, Oldbury. If anyone would like to come along and show support that would be great. I'll be on the reception area from 4.10pm.
CONSULTATION: Sandwell MBC have launched a consultation on "Unauthorised and illegal encampments". In our petition we asked for protocols/procedures to be reviewed and improved. There is a chance here to have a say.

I am still of the opinion that we look at physical barriers to deter and stop encroachment. Trip fences and bollards do not offer a long term sustainable outcome as they are often broken and driven over. There are plenty of examples of this across Sandwell. The use of high containment kerbs, gating and natural planting is forward thinking and a long term positive outcome that can also help and ease parking outside of both the schools on the Delves and Yew Tree.

Hi Chris, hope all well. Don’t forget I’d like to meet and discuss a number of points.
The move by Walsall MBC is a positive step forward the proof and the confidence we shall have in it is when enforcement is enacted. Too often we have read words but the actions have not been forthcoming. We have seen this with ASB and 20mph zones etc all well and good but without enforcement it’s a waste of time.
I am concerned at the lack of communication from Cllrs from both sides of the border and our MP, this is not good Chris. We have an opportunity to change that, and under the Eling regime there is certainly a chance for a clean broom and to create open, transparent communications and engagement. Can only hope
The matter of physical barriers to deter or stop encroachment is still something I would like to discuss and get involved in. The use of high containment kerbs, gating and natural planting can help and also help ease issues with parking outside the Yew Tree and Delves school. Walsall are not engaging.
Our petition is being presented to SMBC committee tomorrow at 4.30pm if you are there would welcome your support and a chance to have a chat.
