Pre-Drain Lake Conroe & dredge San Jac River to help in flood control for Greater Houston

The Greater Houston areas have repeatedly seen flooding in their area due to Lake Conroe and the San Jacinto River rising and spilling over their banks.
Hurricane Harvey was projected to hit the Houston area days in advance of impact. We propose that Lake Conroe in the future pre-release water to help protect the homes/businesses on Lake Conroe, San Jacinto River and Lake Houston. Had water been pre-released from Lake Conroe in the days prior to Harvey making landfall, devastating flooding along this region the week of August 28th could have been prevented or reduced greatly.
Futhermore, we propose that the San Jacinto River be dredged. This river needs to be properly dredged to remove sandbars, trash and debris from previous floods. Some areas of the river, sandbars have been created that you can walk across the river.
We are asking for you to take action to be pro-active in protecting life and property for thousands of residents in the Greater Houston Region.
