Your support of the petition and the emails you’ve sent are being heard!

As a result of all your efforts and the efforts of those who have made connections on our behalf, we were able to make great progress!  Here’s a recap of what has happened in the last week:

  • We have met with the Offices of the following - SF District Supervisor Matt Haney, SF District Attorney Chesa Boudin, and CA Senator Scott Wiener
  • We have ongoing support from the SF Human Rights Commission’s Office of Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) and they have met with SF OCME
  • We have received a copy of the letter from retired CA State Senator Pro Tem Don Perata addressed to the LGBTQ Legislative Caucus about Jaxon’s case
  • We have received a copy of the letter from CA Senator Scott Wiener addressed to SFPD Chief Scott and Dr Liverman (SF OCME)
  • An article about Jaxon’s case was written by Abraham Woodliff on brokassstuart.com
  • An article written on January 31st by John Ferrannini at the Bay Area Reporter, the largest LGBTQ online newspaper in San Francisco that outlines not only Jaxon’s story, but the positions that the SFPD and OCME have taken regarding reopening Jaxon’s case
  • A follow-up article on February 4th was written by Cynthia Laird at the Bay Area Reporter

When you read Ferrannini’s article (EBAR), there are two significant misrepresentations:

  1. The SFPD and OCME state that they thoroughly investigated Jaxon’s death and found no foul play. NEITHER IS TRUE. Their narratives are sparse, contradictory, and rely solely on one witness, the one man who was with Jaxon when he died.
  2. The OCME states that he could neither “confirm nor deny” that someone in his office stated that “the gay community uses GHB” and therefore didn’t investigate. Such language is typically used to evade admitting to the truth.

As a reminder, our goal is to demand a proper and thorough investigation AND have our questions answered. Your voices have helped us make great progress in the span of one week and we know that there is still a lot of work ahead.

Here’s our ask -

PLEASE SEND MORE EMAILS to the agencies listed in the petition!

We'll update you at the end of this upcoming week. We’ll keep pushing forward until we have justice for Jaxon’s death.
