My mom rescued two feral kittens during the pandemic. While trying to convert them from outdoor to indoor kitties her neighbor carelessly "sprinkled rat poison into her grass and rototilled it along the fence line" (quote from neighbor once confronted) without telling any of the neighboring homeowners. Both a possum and one of my mothers sweet cats showed up dead in their yard a few days later - both suffering a slow and painful death.

This not only puts possums and pets at risk but owls, birds and other predatory animals as well. This type of careless behavior threatens delicate ecosystems and can damage soil for years to come. Hold people like this accountable and make it illegal to use any type of pest control that may put anything other than the target pest at risk.
