Hi Friends of Big Bear Animal Rescue Community:

Another dog is about to be added to the euthanize list at Big Bear Animal Care and Control. Big Bear Animal Control is reporting they have taken a report by the prior owners that Striker -- the dog -- bit two people. We do not know any information regarding this situation. We do not know if this family brought the dog home into a house with multiple dogs or cats. We do not know if the prior owners tried to handle the dog in any inappropriate way. All we know is that the dog has been reported to Animal Control for biting two people. This is all we are being told.

Sometimes a dog is not a match for a family, individual, or situation it has been placed in after leaving the shelter. Many people do not understand shelter animals need about two to six months to decompress from their shelter situation and from being abandoned from their prior family. That being said, many people bring shelter dogs home and immediately begin to treat the dog or cat like it is a new puppy. Shelter dogs need time and space to decompress. This specific dog was returned to the shelter after it was adopted from the shelter.
