Folks. Here I am again. Two more dogs were added to the Kill List at our local animal shelter here in Big Bear. Kelly, of Devore Animal Shelter in Devore, CA, who rarely (if ever) meets our local shelter animals has now added two more dogs to the kill list. I swear I'm going to get Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by trying to help our animals who are not promoted to our local community by shelter staff. Why aren't they on these public forums promoting these animals? Please God put someone on our City Board here in Big Bear who understands it is important to have a No Kill Shelter so our residents don't have nervous breakdowns on a daily basis simply trying to clean up the messes our own local animal shelter doesn't care to handle themselves. All they need to do is employ a local care advocate to daily reach out to our community and make these updates. Maybe they can simply add to the job description to one of their current employees, "Promote the animals on Facebook." Our local shelter does not PROMOTE these animals at all. They don't have a sign on North Shore promoting their facility. Just imagine if they had a sign with balloons. I mean they officially do NOTHING to get the animals OUT! They do not take them on walks or allow volunteers to work with the animals so they don't end up on death row. Yesterday, we had 10 or 11 animals in the shelter but because Kelly at Devore Animal Shelter decided these dogs and cats MIGHT be un-adoptable (maybe they were happy to see a shelter worker and jumped up on the shelter worker while they were getting their dog food placed in their bowl). Kelly changed their available status to RESCUE ONLY. Yes, dogs are removed from the adoptable list if they jump up in excitement while they are being fed. I've literally seen this happen with my own eyes. One minute, anyone can adopt them. Next minute, a shelter staff worker is feeding them, the dog gets excited because it hasn't been walked in over a month, the shelter worker is required to report this behavior. The dog is then placed on a RESCUE ONLY list which means YOU can no longer adopt that dog for being excited when the shelter worker entered the kennel. I'm done. I'm just done with no one in our community doing anything to stop this "hostile" environment for our dogs and cats. Please, if you know someone on the city council, ask them to do SOMETHING to help us help our pets. Our city council is literally doing NOTHING to intervene. Our city council has turned over the entire animal control services to San Bernardino County. That means, OUR COMMUNITY HAS NO SAY in how our shelter services are administered. Do something SOMEBODY! I can't do my job thinking about dogs on death row everyday when NOTHING is being done to get them out.

Below is just ONE of the FOUR animals on the kill list today. Please watch this video. They have labeled THIS DOG AGGRESSIVE! It's laughable.
