In past years at Samo High, it was a relief and a benefit to have one day per week to start the day later.  Wednesdays, school started at 10am, which everybody greatly enjoyed.  Clearly, students perform better in classes when they get enough sleep, but most teenagers do not get enough sleep.  This is why the state of California just passed a law regulating school start times.

Now, this beneficial and popular late start day has been taken away from us.  The school has undemocratically imposed Flex Time, without taking into consideration students' input.  Flex Time is very unpopular and is only designed to help *certain people* who need *extra help*, but everyone is forced to suffer.

Flex Time is not flexible at all!  It is a one size fits all solution to a problem not all of us have: needing *extra help* from teachers.  Instead of making us all suffer, why not offer extra study sessions to only those students who need it?  

Many students are very tired now that there is not much of a late start day.  We are more tired and less able to concentrate.   Those of us who had good grades before feel that our grades are declining because we are tired.

We have no extra time to get our braces tightened or see a doctor without missing school. 

This new schedule is very unpopular and was imposed on is with no student input!  We demand democracy, put this to a vote of the students!
