The federal and local government of all states is telling citizens to maintain a 6 foot distance from other or otherwise calling it “Social Distancing.” As a hairstylist that is physically impossible to adhere by. Governors all over the US are asking non-essential businesses such as hair salons, gyms, movie theaters, etc to close up shop until further notice. Being a hairstylist, if you don’t work... you don’t make money and we are not eligible for unemployment! Unfortunately the safety of ourselves, our clients, our family, and those around us is extremely important, but we are still under the stress of figuring out how in the world we will pay our rent with no income. Some of us live paycheck to paycheck or client to client and will not be able to afford our rent payments let alone our bills!

Some places such as the Morgan Street Food Hall and Transfer Co Food Hall in North Carolina are waiving rent for their tenants while places are closed even if they choose to voluntarily close up shop! Salon Lofts, we are asking you to please consider this option or at least freeze our rent and resume it when we all go pack to our normal daily lives!
