Safeguard Our Neighborhood: Demand Aundra Woods’s Relocation

The Issue

Our neighborhood, home to Aundra Woods, is a space filled with fear and anxiety rather than security and peace. Woods, an individual out on bond with charges of multiple sexual assaults, solicitation of a minor, and rape resides uncomfortably close to some of his victims and a local school, starkly demonstrating a serious community safety issue. His presence on our streets, while awaiting trial on bond, creates unease amongst residents. Especially those who have been brave enough to speak up on the matter.

Aundra Woods was charged with 7 counts of Sexual assault, 9 counts of sexual indecency of a child, 2 counts of solicitation of a minor,1 count of harassment,1 count of possession of child abuse material, 1 count of rape, and 1 count of internet stalking of a child. All of his victims are young minors. He is currently residing within a 3 mile radius of almost all his victims.

Notably, according to studies, proximity can retraumatize victims and increase their sense of fear and insecurity (The National Victim Bar Association). Moreover, the American Journal of Public Health has also indicated that presence of an alleged predator near a school can understandably incite worry in the community about potential risks posed to children.

Our plea and urgent need is to have Aundra Woods relocated elsewhere while his trial proceedings are ongoing. We hereby implore the authorities to consider the wellbeing and tranquility of our locality and take the necessary steps towards Woods's relocation. Rocognition of how his proximity is affecting the victims and families, as well as the general apprehension of residents, is paramount. We, as citizens, have the right to live without fear in our own homes and neighborhoods.

Please support our call for a safe and secure community for everyone, especially the children. Sign the petition. With enough voices, we will be heard, and necessary action to move Aundra Woods away from proximity to his victims and our local school can be taken.
