Das Problem

Let's solve inequity and compounding systemic harm in society at the root cause.

In today's world, many children remain unaware of the laws protecting them from domestic violence and abuse. This is particularly prevalent among at-risk populations who may not realize that violence at home is both illegal and reportable. Having children understand their rights from an early age, ideally starting in 1st grade (age 6), is crucial for their safety and self-advocacy.

When children learn about their rights in an age-appropriate manner, they can foster self-confidence and learn to advocate for themselves. This knowledge is not only protective in a legal sense, but it also supports their overall well-being, helping to secure the best career and life outcomes.

Trauma stored in the body is the root cause of PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and even predisposing them to revictimization and assaults by authority figures later and even homelessness. Without early intervention, these children are also at a higher risk of facing homelessness. Virtually most mental health issues in society can be traced back to early abuse. An ounce of prevention in society beats a pound of cure.

In New York City, the United States, and throughout Europe, it is imperative to integrate education on domestic violence laws into our school systems from the earliest grades. AI can help, serving as a trusted and neutral confidant informing children of their rights. This learning can be both effective and age-appropriate, ensuring every child gains the knowledge they need to stay safe and secure.

In 2023, Sara Sharif was 10 years old and murdered by her Pakistani father in the UK. Many kids do not speak up because they don't know the laws protecting them, that they do not deserve this. They internalize blame for the abuse and want to protect their parents, to tragic outcomes. Schools teach safety measures like the Heimlich maneuver, but it's not taught to kids that they deserve nurturing environments at home. That abuse is NEVER their fault.

It's time to put the shame back on corrupt parents who abuse their authority to harm others that they were supposed to protect.

Especially in the music industry, so many women have faced early assaults. Missy Elliot, Tina Turner, Stacy Orrico. Early abuse endangers survivors for trauma responses like people-pleasing that endanger them for later assaults by corrupt authority figures – see Jeffery Epstein. Building resilient nervous systems early empowers them to say no and advocate for themselves. This also impacts career outcomes in male-dominated fields like music and Tech.

This preventative measure, even at a minimum level of education, promises one of the highest returns on investment for society's overall wellbeing. It allows us to nurture a generation of resilient nervous systems who can stand up to protect themselves from harm, and with the best developmental upbringing for their mental health. To know their rights and having the confidence to reach out when those rights are violated, as well as advocate to protect each other.

Let us act now to ensure our children grow up in an environment that values their security and self-worth and solve inequity and compounding systemic harm in society at the root cause.
