A local town planner told the public hearing committee that the Tanjung Aru Eco Development (TAED) memorandum document as “toxic” during the public hearing session last Tuesday at Kota Kinabalu Community Hall. He said, “If the memorandum is toxic and the memorandum is inadequate, you're dead” explained, the major problem was that there is nothing below the ground and also no indication where the service (basic utilities) at in the memorandum. The planner surprised that the TAED memorandum allowed a triangle lot and even triangle buildings in their plan. He also found there was no setback next to the canal and zero setback for basement and buildings right after their boundaries. He denied allegation that he is against the DBKK or intend to fight with the government and will give the same advice (professionally) to whoever ask him matters about the planning regarding TAED. “You sought me and i very prepare to work with you”, he told the hearing committee as he sees that the prepared TAED memorandum as “nonsense” and “rubbish”. “That you are not going to have a second hearing and the only time you cannot have the second hearing is when you do not make changes to the plan”, he addressed the committee chairman. “So, meaning this meeting today is a waste of time because you have made the point that you not going to have the second hearing”, he continued. He reminded the committee, “The Town and Country Planning Ordinance (Sabah Cap.141) were written such way that there are two stage of public objection”. The planner hope the hearing chairman will hold a second hearing to give opportunity for those who affected with the changes in the first hearing opportunity to be heard.
