Very sad news that another great footballer, Gary Ablett, was booed yesterday during the course of a match between his team Geelong, and Hawthorne.
Ablett obviously didn't let it get to him, kicking three goals, but it is sad that in a country that used to value freedom this sort of abuse is happening.
As former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett was quoted as saying:
Mr Kennett said he thought booing was unsportsmanlike and that disputes over religious views had no place on the field.
“I don’t think on a sporting field the views that one holds politically or religiously should flow over onto the sporting field,” he said.
Let's show all these guys that they have the support of the silent majority.
