Israel Folau is one of the best rugby players Australia has produced. He is also a devout member of Australian Christian Churches. He, along with many Christians, believes that "Drunks, Homosexuals, Adulterers, Liars, Fornicators, Thieves, Atheists, Idolaters" will go to hell unless they repent. For expressing his religious convictions publicly Rugby Australia is threatening to cancel his contract to play for them.

Australia is a secular society. That means we have no right to tell people what religious beliefs they may accept or express. We are a free society. That means our employer can't tell us what to believe unless it affects our ability to do our job.

By signing this petition we don't endorse Izzy's views, but we defend his right to have and express them.

We therefore call on Rugby Australia to honour its commitment to diversity and withdraw its threat to cancel Izzy's contract.
