Petition updateThe government to put aside immigration law and use compassion for a dying motherIrene's direct plea letter to Theresa May March 2016

As yet we wait on the government to respond to our plea for compassion in allowing us to take on our social responsibility in taking care of our mother in her time of need but yet again we are put aside by the government red tape and bureaucracy of politicians.
Our local MP Charlotte Leslie had put forward a special plea, as our local MP directly to both Theresa May & Amber Rudd, only to get the same response from the Home Office, which again indicates we are just a number in being an easy target to send our mother back home & increase the governments statistic in saying, "Another one sent back".
This is our loving mother were fighting for and not just another KPI statistic.
Back in May 2016 I posted an update in confirming our mother had sent a direct plea to Theresa May, which was dated the 11th of March 2016, at the same time I sent one to Mr Cameron.
I thought I would copy & paste her plea directly to the Home Secretary, in thinking a plea from our mothers heart would allow them to open their hearts & give her right to remain with her 6 children and 8 grandchildren but as yet nothing:
This is a direct copy & paste of our mothers letter sent directly to Theresa May, which was received, as it was recorded delivery:
11th of March 2016

Final Plea for me to die with my family
To “The Right Honourable Theresa May”,
Dear Theresa
My name is Irene Nel and I am widowed now for 11 years with my husband passing away due to a major heart attack in South Africa leaving me with nothing in regards to property, pension or money via life policies, which back in the days was never made a big issue and hence my current situation I now find myself in at the age of 73……”Needing Help”.
My children have spent 10 years of their life savings trying to get my application to remain with them sorted and yet again it has been rejected with no course to appeal the Home Office ruling, hence this letter from myself, which is being done by my son, as I am not computer literate.
In the 1st tier ruling, we were told by Judge Harmes there was no law allowing him to make a decision for me to remain in the UK based on current UK Immigration law but concluded the following:
(69) I would add only one thing to my judgment. In this case there is ample scope for the Secretary Of State to use her discretion to allow this appellant leave to remain. She is elderly and with the family members who can look after her in her illness and old age. Save for her treatment, she would not be a burden in any other way, being financed and housed by her family. Such a decision would be compassionate and would not set a precedent in my view. Like their Lordships suggested in N, this decision by no means forces the Secretary of State to return her immediately back to South Africa.
Please Mrs May grant me such compassion that I may remain with my 6 children and 8 grandchildren, whom I know will care for me in my dying days, which is very limited based on my deterioration over the last 4 years since being diagnosed with kidney failure.
Every day I become frailer and the stress of knowing I will be deported back to South Africa, when I report back to Immigration to sign on in May 2016, which I have being doing since I lodged my application, is causing me unnecessary stress on my already weak and frail body.
If I return back to South Africa, as per all the documents issued to your legal team I will not get the lifesaving dialysis I require to live, which is based on my age and my current heart condition. Again documents submitted, as the South African health services base the need on age and circumstances ie young, father of young children etc. get preference over a 73 year old mother/grandmother.
My last appeal, which I got a response back dated the 30th of December 2015, again has been rejected based on “UK Immigration Law”, which we know there are no grounds for me to remain here with my children BUT again I plead and beg, as a mother to grant me the opportunity to stay in the UK with my 6 children and 8 grandchildren, for the short time I have left to be with them on “Compassion Grounds” and “Social Responsibility” for my children to take care of me in my deep time of need.
Returning me back to South Africa will be sending me to my death, as I will not survive the current situation I will be faced with. I am frail, with no prosperity of working or getting a place to live, as I have nothing in this world and everything I have now, roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my table, warm bed every night and pocket money of £20 per month for my day to day needs are all supplied by my children in the UK.
I have been advised by my legal team to appeal at high court BUT my children have run out of money and do not have the £20,000 it would cost to take this further and the time it gets to court I may have passed away and again I plead and beg as a mother to use your entitlement to grant me compassion to remain with my children, as I die
If this compassion to remain with my family cannot be granted to me, please Mrs May issue me with a 6 weeks visa in allowing me to stop my life saving dialysis treatment and die in the UK with my children and grandchildren who love and care for me, as I cannot return back to South Africa to die on my own.
I am not suicidal, as mentioned in my appeal by your legal team, “Letter dated the 30/12/2016”, but rather thrust onto life every day, as if it were my last with my family who love and care for me.
My request is simple, “if I cannot remain here with my family until I pass on and have to return back to South Africa, then I ask, as a mother/grandmother you grant me the 6 weeks required for me to stop my treatment and pass away in the UK with my family, which I believe will be a peaceful death”.
My children have done a lot for me and I cannot see them going through financial strains to seek further legal fees to try and get me permission to stay. I am old and will not live for a long time and my life expectancy in 2012 was five years, so time is limited for me and I wish you grant me leave to remain on compassionate grounds, which is the only way I can stay with my family in allowing them to meet their social responsibilities in looking after their mother in my great time of need.
Please, I beg that you would consider my case outside the immigration rules, as the Secretary of State, which would not set a law put in place nor would it set precedence.
My children have a government petition on-going and slowly getting moment from the public and trust they get enough for this to be reviewed as a stand-alone case, in allowing me to stay with my children until my last day on earth.
