A report commissioned by the Rotherham Borough Council found that from 1997 to 2014 there were at least 1400 cases where young girls were sexually exploited by gangs of Muslim men who were of largely Pakistani origin. Why was this shocking level of sexual violence and predation allowed to continue for so long? Why was so little done to apprehend the perpetrators? Why weren't the authorities more concerned about the physical and psychological welfare of these young, vulnerable girls? Why the shocking level of indifference to visible human suffering? We request an independent public enquiry in order to determine why gangs of Muslim men in Rotherham were allowed to abuse more than 1400 girls over a 20 year period.
