Dear Readers
In my last update (Accountability, Scrutiny, and Transparency) I told you about the correspondence I have had with Steph Cooke MP and my attempts to get her to pass information on to the Premier of NSW.
This information relates to the relationship of the NSW Government to the RSPCA NSW, the amount of taxpayer funds that are given by the Government to that body, and what appears to be the total lack of accountability that both the RSPCA NSW seems to have to the Government and also the lack of accountability the NSW Government seems to have to the NSW Taxpayer!
I approached Steph Cooke because she is now a Minister in the Government as well as being a State MP.
She was also my State MP when I lived next door to Camp Kitty. New readers to this site should understand that CK was located in Cowra NSW and approximately 200 cats were living there in the most dreadful conditions. I have seen starving cats eating the corpse of another cat, cats that had lost eyes in fights, and others with broken limbs. It broke my heart and now this is why I must fight for change in the way NSW acts towards animal cruelty. She acted on my behalf when I could not get any replies from the RSPCA NSW and the awful treatment that cats were suffering from at CK. The RSPCA NSW told Steph that `there were no welfare issues’, and that is all they ever said to me when I complained to them about the dreadful suffering and cruelty that was perpetuated at CK. That place has now ceased as a place of horror, but that only happened after I contacted Prime 7 News and they showed footage of what was going on.
Whenever I wrote to the Premier the correspondence was always directed through the Premier’s Office to the Minister Of Agriculture, and I always got a reply that did not answer any of the questions I had asked then! However I have now been told by Frances Crowley (from the Office of Steph Cooke) - `Your concerns have been raised with the Premier, as requested. I have asked that any further correspondence is to be sent to you directly’.
I received this information on the 16 Sept 22, and unfortunately still have heard nothing from The Premier.
As I have stated in previous emails I now have no option but to email all the NSW State MP’s and then ICAC (Independent Commission against Corruption).
Readers please help to effect change. Spread the word about the behaviour of the RSPCA NSW and the attitude of the NSW Government in ignoring all efforts to hold the RSPA NSW to account, and the reluctance to explain why it gives the RSPCA NSW about $8 million dollars a year, and it seems with no questions asked. So email your friends or even try and get a reply from the Premier.
If anyone has an email address to contact a journalist etc please leave details in the comments section (please note I do not have a twitter account).I hope the link below may be a way of quickly spreading the word. Thanks Keith
ps the photo shows a typical scene, dead or dying cats lying around the yard (this photo is old).
