Dear Readers,

Hi everyone.- To let you know we’ve just passed 26,376 signatures on our petition! Thank you so much for your support! Will you help me to get more support by sharing this petition with ten other people? If enough of us sign we can’t be ignored! Here’s a link to share https://www.change.org/p/rspca-nsw-tell-the-rspca-nsw-that-this-is-cruel-2

Please help make the NSW Government account for how it deals with Animal Rights issues and their oversight role with RSPCA NSW.

I apologise for not having responded to comments from my last update. Below is copy of correspondence from the Hon. Marshall, Minister for Agriculture NSW. He gives information regarding Spotty, the solitary cat. This is all I know about Spotty, as I do not live next to Camp Kitty anymore. However I re confirm my intention to get justice for those cats that were so neglected by RSPCA NSW, and will continue my efforts till a result can be achieved. The photo shows the awfulness at Camp Kitty when the RSPCA NSW were saying `there are no welfare issues’. They always stated that to me, and they even told my State MP Katrina Hodgkinson that `there were no welfare issues’, after I complained to her about the cruelty that was being perpetrated at CK. To tell me something that was blatantly untrue is one thing, but to tell my State Mp that is surely not acceptable!

Can any readers get the RSPCA NSW to say why they stated `there were no welfare issues’. I suspect you will not get an answer to that question!

The response below does NOT address that questions I have asked the Hon Minister on several occasions.

Dear Mr Climpson

Thank you for your correspondence of 25 May 2021 regarding the welfare of a cat at Camp Kitty
and the role of RSPCA NSW in this investigation. I appreciate the reasons that have prompted
you to write and apologise for the delay in responding to your previous correspondence.

As you are aware, RSPCA NSW commenced legal proceedings in relation to a large number of
cats that were seized from ‘Camp Kitty’, and these matters have now been finalised. In relation
to the single cat that remains at the property, RSPCA NSW has advised that the cat is being
appropriately cared for.

As indicated previously, RSPCA NSW is a charitable organisation operating under its own
constitution and governance structure and is independent of government. Its enforcement
activities are carried out in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding with the NSW
Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and it is required to report to the Minister annually on its
enforcement activities.

These enforcement reports are not publicly available, however as a registered charity and public
company limited by guarantee, RSPCA NSW is accountable for its funds through annual
reporting requirements, and these reports are published on their website.

Complaints about the RSPCA or its investigations should be directed to the RSPCA Chief
Inspector, 201 Rookwood Road, Yagoona NSW 2199.

The NSW Government is committed to reforming animal welfare laws in NSW to ensure that the
legislation keeps pace with the latest animal welfare science, community expectations, industry
practises and technology. In February 2020 the NSW Government published the NSW Animal
Welfare Reform - Issues Paper. NSW Department of Primary Industries is now developing policy
proposals in response to the issues raised. There will be further opportunities for stakeholders
to have their say on the new legislative framework.

To stay up to date with our Animal Welfare program you can register to receive updates at
updates at https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/animals-and-livestock/animal-welfare/news-and

I trust this is of assistance, however, if you have any further enquiries, I have asked Dr Kim
Filmer, Chief Animal Welfare Officer at DPI, to be available to answer any questions you may
have. Dr Filmer can be contacted on 0418 417 048.

Yours sincerely

Adam Marshall
