Once more many thanks to the readers and supporters of this petition. Over 3 thousand new readers in a week! Those that can make changes will start to be aware that changes have to occur with Animal Welfare in NSW, and undoubtedly in other States as well.
This update picture shows another poor creature from the time when the RSPCA NSW said that `there were no welfare issues’.
The Hon. Niall Blair (ex Minister for Primary Industries) has now departed, and whoever takes over will undoubtedly be an improvement. The Hon. Blair was a massive disappointment to me and I am sure many others, and when his successor has settled in I shall be asking the same questions that the Hon. Blair seemed unable to answer.
There is only one cat left at Camp Kitty now. It has survived 3 cold winters and I hate to think of it having to go through another one. Temperatures here in rural Cowra are dropping fairly quickly now. I shall write to various organisations to try and find one that will act to get this poor animal a home, and not allow the RSPCA NSW to destroy it. It does get regular food and water now, but it is in very poor accommodation with no companionship. I shall continue to fight for the welfare of this animal but also of course for the welfare of all animals that suffer from the disregard of RSPCA NSW.
There are good charities around. Last week we found an old kelpie dog at the side of the road near Orange. It was helped into the car and taken to Mt Canoblas Animal Hospital. Very helpful and friendly staff, they checked it out and found its owners. Well done! Why waste over a million dollars of taxpayers money a year to a public company (RSPCA NSW) that shows so little regard for animal welfare? It is organisations like the Animal Hospital that need taxpayer funds.
It is not only in NSW that the RSPCA has little regard for animals. Seems to be happening in SA as well. Have a look at the petition on this site called `Release of the Border Collies’, and please sign. Also for his determination and perseverance to fight corruption have a look at Vasant Wagh’s petition, `Australia Post must never cover up identity thefts’, also worth a sign. He is a man who has given me support in the past.
It will be petition numbers and comments that will make the decision makers in our society take notice, so please ask your friends and colleagues to sign and pass on. Politicians will act if for no other reason than to protect their own jobs!
Another update in about 2 weeks, I am going on holiday. Thanks Keith
