Dear Readers, in my last update once again a fantastic response. One lady said that she had just signed, and what more could she do to help?
I have given this some thought, and what I would like to see emerge is a body that fights for Animal Rights. Full stop. No alliances to any other groups that prevents the truth about a situation from emerging, or worries about what will occur if the truth is revealed. No paid employees, and no ABN Nos! Just people who will write, campaign, or whatsoever (provided it is legal) to improve Animal Rights in Australia, and maybe help to bring genuine animal rights groups closer together. People who will campaign to make sure we have a Minister who shows interest in animal welfare or fish deaths. Or maybe a Federal Minister who will be concerned about those rights and not about the pressures from farming lobby groups.
Animal rights and likewise issues are becoming very important issues. Yesterday fish deaths in Menindee, today Racehorse Trainer issues (have heard that this may involve a treadmill and tasers).
Remember our previous State Premier resigning suddenly? Was that because of the greyhound ban (live baiting issue ) being overturned? The list is very long – kangaroos, sheep, brumby culling, sharks, desecration of koala habitat etc. so many creatures that have suffered. And of course the authorities that do not seem to spend much time on rectifying or helping to solve the problems, just more concerned with covering up (such as the live sheep trade).
I have lived in Australia a long time now. Readers from the UK have commented on how poor the RSPCA here seems to be compared to their organisation. I want Australia to have better animal rights, in fact I would like Australia to be at the forefront of Animal Rights. Maybe we can’t win at cricket without cheating, so what, lets win by showing the world we can change, adapt and be a very compassionate society.
So if anyone is interested please let me know. My first aim is to get the Government in NSW to stop funding a Public Company that is failing to deliver and give funds to those groups that care for animals who at the moment do so at their own expense.
My email address is climpo2@yahoo.com

ps - one reader suggested I change the update photo. Shown is photocopy of email from NSW Government Feedback Hub. This may demonstrate an improvement in government services, as previously I would write (on a fill in the box type form), then get no response, and no record of what was on that correspondence! I do therefore now hope to get a response from Hon Niall Blair soon.
