Petition updateRoyal Commission into Islamic Extremism in Australia20,000 Signatures — Australians Are Speaking. Anthony Albanese Is Not Listening.

Reaching 20,000 signatures is a powerful message from the Australian public — one that cannot honestly be dismissed as fringe, isolated, or uninformed. These are the voices Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is choosing to ignore.

Each of us who has signed now carries influence. Twenty thousand Australians means twenty thousand networks — families, friends, workplaces, and communities. Many Australians still do not know that calls for a Royal Commission are being rejected, or that this petition exists as a clear, lawful way to express their demand for one. That must change.

Importantly, this concern is not coming only from the public. Families of the victims of the Bondi Beach attack have written an open letter calling for an independent Royal Commission, expressing their need for transparency, accountability, and answers. Those families have also been ignored. When even the voices of grieving families are dismissed, Australians are right to ask serious questions about leadership and priorities.

Recent reporting confirms what many Australians already suspected: rather than supporting an independent Royal Commission, Anthony Albanese has indicated a preference for his own office to conduct an “inquiry.” An inquiry controlled by the executive government lacks independence, transparency, and public confidence. Australians understand the difference — and we are not fooled by it.

This is not how serious national issues are confronted. A Royal Commission exists precisely so governments cannot investigate themselves.

Momentum matters. History shows that when uncomfortable issues are deferred, deflected, or downplayed, the consequences return — often with greater harm. Allowing this issue to fade from public attention guarantees nothing changes.

Now is the time to act, not slow down.

Please continue to:

  • Share this petition directly with MPs and Senators
  • Post it on Facebook and Instagram, including in comment sections on relevant news and political posts
  • Share it with friends, family, and colleagues who want accountability but don’t know where to start
  • Keep raising it wherever Australians are talking about public safety and leadership

Twenty thousand Australians have spoken — including the families most affected.

Let’s make sure none of them are ignored.

Thank you for standing firm and keeping this issue alive.
