48TH AUSTRALIAN WOMAN KILLED IN 2026

A 28-year-old woman was critically injured in her home at St James, Western Australia, on Wednesday. She died in hospital. A man known to her is in custody.
She is the 48th Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed. There were children at the home.
