It's been a horrid 10 days of male violence across Australia. The murder of a woman yesterday in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, reinforces how far we are from ending this epidemic.
A woman was found critically injured in a home in the morning. Paramedics did their best to save her but it was to no avail. A man known to her is in the custody of the Homicide Squad.
She is the 46th Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed.
The level of exhaustion and rage for many women is high right now and we have every right to feel this way. Today, I ask you to be kind to yourself and do take the time to disengage for a while if that is what you need.
Every death is documented at AustralianFemicideWatch.org. Please share the petition so we can get more signatures and make change for women.
