This coming Wednesday Royal Borough of Greenwich council are aiming to declare a climate emergency. However having met with members of Extinction Rebellion Greenwich to discuss proposals, the XR group say they don't go far enough and that it is business as usual with a few tweaks. The council leadership still supports the Silvertown Tunnel which will wreak havoc on our already fragile air and ecosystems. We won't cease campaigning until we have an emergency that has a plan to do things differently. But we have made huge progress since February when we were told NO! to our calls for a climate emergency. We are almost there. Thank you for your support.
