This petition has been started to see if it can gain real recognition, for improved safety for our local communities and through traffic on our stretch of the sometimes notorious A46.

Caistor is an historic town, steeped in history with roots going back to being a Roman settlement formerly known as 'Castrum', whence the name.

The problem is that there is such a high level of varied traffic these days (and it's only going to get worse). This includes a fuel tanker route, Industrial, agricultural, tourist and school traffic along with through traffic where 3 major routes interject, each approach being deterred by limited visibility, with fading road markings.

At the time of starting this petition, we have had two accidents in 1 weekend alone, and Lord knows how many near misses.

So we set out as a small team of locals, with a wide range of skill sets, got out heads together, and decided it was the right thing to do for the future of our community, and the welfare of people passing our neighborhood, We felt compelled to act for the good of safety on this notoriously dangerous stretch of the A46.
