It has been shown that using an Indigenous person as a logo/mascot perpetuates harmful stereotypes - these negative stereotypes have been proven to have harmful impact on indigenous peoples socially and culturally and especially indigenous youth.

The amount of racial violence that exists in Canada is undeniable, and to say that you are “honouring” them using their image to put fear in the hearts of your opponents perpetuates the stereotype of them being violent people. 

If it’s possible to change a large organization like the Redskins, it is possible in our small community of Rossland.
