Under Regional Victoria eased step three restrictions indoor community sport and recreation activities such as gymnastics, basketball, netball, karate, judo etc. that operate predominately indoors has not been permitted.

Community sport and recreation clubs demonstrated their capacity to develop comprehensive COVID SAFE Plans in June 2020 when they re-opened for four weeks with temp testing, increased cleaning & hygiene, limited capacity & classes/ session, established contact tracing systems and ultimately re-connected thousands of children & young people to a sense of normality & routine through sport. We provided the mental well-being our young people and families needed and stand ready, willing and able to do this now.

We ask that indoor community sport and recreation facilities in Regional Victoria is permitted  re-open for children and young people at the same time schools return on 5th October 2020.

The decision to open indoor community sport and recreation facilities is a significant investment in youth mental health and well-being. Our young people need this!
