Reentry services are provided to ex-offenders and are not provided to individuals who are wrongfully convicted and exonerated. The purpose of reentry programs is to assist citizens who reenter society following their incarceration. The wrongfully convicted and rightfully convicted experience imprisonment and barriers to successful reentry.  However, their reentry experience differs, as exonerees are, left without access to human service reentry programs and state aid. The change will impact policies to grant exonerees access to human service reentry programs and state aid. The policy reforms will help exonerees become effective members of society. The Rightfully Exonerated need free access to their vital records: Driver's License or Identification Card from (DMV), Transitional Services for approximately 12 months, immediate Housing Assistance of $5,000 upon reentry, Reimbursement for reasonable housing costs for at least 4 years, and Job Training. Higher Education with no statewide tuition fees for individuals attending a public college. Health Care should include enrollment in free services, with full wellness check-ups, and dental check-ups upon exoneration.
