On Saturday, July 3rd, 2020 at 10:28 p.m., Bree Black passed away after being shot outside her apartment. At the time this petition is posted, no shooter has been identified.

Bree is one of the over 21 trans women who have been killed THIS YEAR. Trans women, especially black trans women, are extremely vulnerable to violence, and we must take action to ensure these women are protected and given justice.

We ask Governor Ron DeSantis and the Broward County Police Department that a thorough investigation is made and that the killer be held accountable. We ask for Justice for Bree Black, so her family can have the closure they deserve.
