Help foster kids stay in safe homes by supporting child act H.R. 8443

Help foster kids stay in safe homes by supporting child act H.R. 8443
The Issue
The passage of the family first prevention services act in 2018 made group homes like the Sheriff's Youth Ranch ineligible to receive federal funds. Due to the lack of money to support these safe and healthy organizations more foster kids are forced to sleep in offices and in tents behind supportive organizations. The child act H.R. 8443 introduced by rep. Neal Dunn, Alcee Hastings, Val Demings, Greg Steube, and Darren Soto will make sure that cottage homes like the Sheriff's Youth Ranches will remain available for children in need. It will add cottage homes as a federally approved placement option in the child welfare system and allow states to place foster children in these homes without losing federal funds. I urge you to support this bill.
