Dear Friends,
our fight to maintain the Public land for the Bergen Hill community in Jersey City continues, but now more than ever your help is needed.
This upcoming week we will have a meeting with Councilman Rolando R. Lavarro, Council President and Chair of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency Board, and Councilman Jermaine Robinson, Ward F (Bergen/Lafayette).
We need all of your voices to make them understand what are the community priorities, especially in election year.
(In November there will be new elections for the entire Council)
I ask all of you to send an email to both Councilmen.
Here is their email address:
RLavarro@jcnj.org
JDRobinson@jcnj.org
Here is the type of email we would like to send, please make all the change you feel appropriate and add all you want.

Dear Councilman.,
I write you to tell that I'm supporting the petition to stop the sale of the Jersey City Public land on 23 Cornelison Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, 07304 to Tovaste Management LLC.
Public land should be saved - not sold!
It's important to preserve green spaces in Jersey City.
Urban open spaces include areas such as parks, playing fields and bush-land reserves.
They play an essential part in the recreational life of people who live in cities. Parks and playing fields are important to families - children in cities need green lawns to play and exercise while bush-land reserves serve as habitat for wildlife. Trees that grows on public land protect city from heat island effect and clean air for all of us who lives in the city.
Jersey City lack on the green tree canopy which is essential for a healthy sustainable city and quality of life for all residents.
This is a chance to show you care about Jersey City residents. Do the right thing. Give 23 Cornelison Avenue to the community and make it part of Bergen Hill Park, don't sell it to a developer who will make a big profit from our city's public land by building market rate apartments.
Jersey City should be ours! City Public land belongs to all Jersey City Residents!
Sincerely,
