I want a change in ROBLOX’s moderation system, I should have not been falsely banned for the reasons I was, I do not care if it’s 1 day or 2 months. This is out of hand and needs to be resolved. Do we really want ROBLOX to ban your account for taking something you said in game out of context? Or do we want them to understand what we say in actually thoroughly investigate instead of having false bans and banning sprees. Here’s my story on why we should improve ROBLOX’s moderation: On April 5, 2021 I, myself, was involved in a hate crime. Here is how it all started. My friend and I, who I will not be disclosing her name, were simply playing a game via the website ROBLOX. I’m sure many of you have heard this website in the past, whether you play it or you are just familiar with it. Well, in case You didn’t know ROBLOX has many creators who make games inside of the platform, there are thousands upon thousands of many games. We are going to specifically talk about one though, one being where I have experienced racism and hate. On the game Horrific Housing, my friend and I were playing. Above you will see my ban information and what I said that lead to my ban. In the first offense I said “SHOOT HIM YOU IDIOT” but let’s keep in mind that the fact that you were supposed to shoot somebody as it was part of the “challenge” within the game. To go more in depth about this scenario, my friend had someone chasing her with a sword, so I said “SHOOT HIM IDIOT” because that’s how we talk to each other. I believe ROBLOX took this out of context and used it against me. But that wasn’t when I experienced this racism and hate, that was simply ROBLOX moderators taking things out of context, once again. The second part is where this story falls into play, as you can see I say “they’ll believe u cause ur white” now for context, in the same game, Horrific Housing, there at random things that happen such as your house disappearing, or you getting hit by a anvil, and many more silly things. My friends house disappeared so she said “I’ll just take your house it’s fine” and in response to that I said “we’ll go ahead ig..” then that is where I said this: “they’ll believe you because you’re white” keep in mind that my avatar was black and she was white, which is why I said that they’ll believe her cause she’s white, because before that I said “ima call the police!” So as you can see here they used what I said to her as a violation and to use this against me because my character was black, and hers was white. ROBLOX moderation NEVER takes anything seriously. So why is that I having a black avatar on ROBLOX get me banned? ROBLOX is normalizing systemic racism and this is why we need to come together and sign the petition to stop ROBLOX from doing this any further. Thank you.
