For many years, the videogame industry was mainly funded by a different model, they had publishers, who would help regulate and step in when unfair things were going on. this new model for FREE money from kickstarter backers, is starting to go to developers heads, for once, the public is funding the projects they are passionate about. there exists great potential there, for sure, but developpers are simply taking our money, and not being liable for it. They have found a mass way to brain wash the public with things like internet spaceship games to the latest indie RPG-rennaisance kickback. What is not happening, is the public coming together and having a right to be heard, and voice their concerns, unless it benifits the ones in charge. Recently a new trend has started online, with CEO's like that of Reddit and other forums,a nd sub-forums starting to simply swing the ban hammer and expel those who wish to voice anything other then the popular public management's opinion. This has to stop, someone, someone big has got to take a leap forward and allow the public to have a much more important role then simply being cash cows for the developper. We should have a voice, and some power over forums and where we can be heard. It is my personal belief this is the future, and would even benefit sales, production, and public opinion of this kickstarter model. Stop being internet spaceship dictators and start being freedom of speech fighters and support our basic human rights to be heard without ridicule and censorship!
