Dr. Jammula, a talented and much loved physics instructor at Rutgers Newark, is being harrassed, bullied, and removed from future classes. Her "crime"? At a talk on diversity and equality in physics education, two students making a flyer for the event mistakenly misprinted her title. Dr. Jammula caught the error, informed the organizers, and corrected it in her introduction.

However, physics professor Dr. Martin Schaden (who is on sabbatical) saw the flyer, harrassed Dr.Jammula, and decided this was grounds to not only remove Dr. Jammula, but also fail the students who made the flyer. He filed charges and accused the students of "fabricated research on an assignment...which was 100% of their grade"! When these falsified charges were dismissed, he went after Dr. Jammula.

Despite having zero evidence of malintent, the head of the physics department, Dr Zhen Wu, removed Dr. Jammula from her upcoming classes. She was neither consulted nor told she was removed.  Dr. Zhen Wu consulted with no one in the department except Dr. Martin Schaden. Not surprisingly, Dr. Zhen Wu said he would teach these upcoming classes instead.

Dr. Jammula is effective, and uses research-based teaching strategies and is one of the highest rated instructors at the Newark Campus. The rude and condescending treatment by Dr. Schaden and Dr. Zhen Wu show their bias against a young FEMALE instructor who has obviously been more successful at teaching students than they have been. Her revolutionary ideas threaten those who revel in the premise that only elite students can do Physics.  This whole affair is a smokescreen to remove a talented, female, and much-loved professor.

The student body demands transparency regarding Dr. Jammula's removal from her classes, that she be reinstated to her previously scheduled classes, and accountability for those responsible for her removal.
